And that’s exactly what I’m here to be for you—a guide, a coach, and a creative cheerleader as you build the story only YOU can tell.

what makes my coaching different

I have a passion for books and a passion for teaching. I received my BA in Creative Writing and returned to get my MA in Literature because I wanted to teach books. After almost 10 years in content marketing, I finally published my debut novel after spending 15 years writing stories.

My approach to coaching combines a few different frameworks and approaches. Not only do I have personal experience as an author, but my degree bolstered me with all the different technical nuances of storytelling. On top of that, I am a psychology minor who believes our brains are such complex places, but we have the ability to rework and remap our thinking.

My role is to be your guide, your mentor, and your support system. I’ll be there to help you untangle plot problems, flesh out your characters, and get you unstuck when you hit a creative wall.

I’ll be giving you honest, constructive feedback. Sometimes, that means tough love. Other times, it means giving you permission to try something bold and different. But you’ll always have my full support, my experience, and my resources at your fingertips.

My No-Nos:

  • Promote hustle culture. I will not have you burning out. The purpose of this program is to teach you sustainable practices.

  • Force you to write the way I do. Everyone’s process is different, even in the same genre. I am here with a variety of resources and templates that you might want to try, but you do not have to adhere to them. We want to find what works for you and run with it.

  • Assign you a million craft books. Yes, these are helpful, especially if you’re just starting out, but after a while, they’re all saying the same thing. The best way to hone your craft is to put it practice and do.

You’ll have access to all my resources to help you develop these elements, as well as templates to help with building, outlining, and more.

Accountability & Support

This is a BIG one. Writing can be lonely work, but you’re not doing it alone anymore. I’m here to help you stay accountable, keep you motivated, and celebrate every milestone along the way. We will personalize our sessions and check-ins based on what you need: word count management, motivation, venting, advice, etc.

Look at character development, world building, pacing, tension, themes, emotions, etc from the story as a whole. I will also look at each element of a chapter and analyze them individually.

Group Workshops

starting at $25/person

Depends on length and topic

These themed workshops occur roughly once a month and can be on anything from “Writing Complex Characters” to “World-Building for Fantasy and Sci-Fi”. There will only be 5-10 seats, which allows me to help the individuals of the group based on the topic.
